Maldives Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thoriq Ibrahim, has presented his credentials to the UAE government.

UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Thoriq presented a copy of his Letter of Credence to Undersecretary Omar Obaid AlHassan AlShamsi.

During the meeting, AlShamsi reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries across various sectors for their mutual benefit.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Thoriq expressed his appreciation for the UAE's progress at the regional and international levels under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He also expressed his hope of further strengthening cooperation between the Maldives and the UAE across various sectors.

Before he was appointed as Maldives' Ambassador to the UAE, Thoriq served as Minister of Tourism and Environment.
