The Prosecutor General (PG), Uz Abbas Shareef, has ordered a criminal investigation into the Binveriya and Gedhoruveriya schemes. On his official X account, the PG stated that he had initiated action in response to citizens' concerns regarding these schemes. He emphasised that public concerns would be addressed through two key measures: conducting a thorough and expeditious investigation and implementing appropriate disciplinary action against any parties found responsible.
