The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has reported that the Nepalese sailor who went missing from a vessel en route from Addu to Malé remains unaccounted for.

The missing man, identified as Raj Kumar, was last seen aboard the Seamax on Monday night. Authorities report that extensive search operations covering 200 nautical miles by sea and air have so far yielded no results.

According to police, Kumar was discovered missing when the boat was in waters between Addu and Fuvahmulah, approximately eight miles from the latter.

The Seamax had departed Addu at 11:30 p.m. on Monday. Kumar was confirmed to have been aboard at the time of departure, with reports indicating he spoke to the vessel's captain at around 1:15 a.m.
