The Maldives Business Chamber (MBC) has conducted a training programme on artificial intelligence (AI) for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), becoming the first in a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening business management and governance.
The AI Awareness Session, held at Mookai Hotel, brought together around 40 participants representing businesses in Malé and the atolls. MBC said the programme received strong participation from a range of business sectors.
The training was delivered by an instructor specialising in AI and information technology, focusing on practical ways businesses can use AI to improve efficiency, streamline administrative tasks, prepare documents and expand access to international markets. The programme also explored how AI can help businesses operate more effectively with leaner workforces.
Participants welcomed the initiative, noting that the session provided practical insights into using AI tools to simplify business administration and improve operational efficiency. MBC said it plans to continue offering AI training programmes on a regular basis and expand future sessions to businesses across both Malé and the atolls.
The Maldives Business Chamber was established in December 2025 and currently has around 100 member companies. The organisation was formed to support the development of the country's business sector and allows businesses to join through its official website.
