Ihavandhoo MP Ahmed Naseer has emphasised that recent legal amendments reflect the Government's commitment to addressing the sentiments of the people.
Speaking on MMTV's Bodu Khabaru programme, the MP outlined how the Administration has implemented critical reforms to navigate the country through a challenging period. He stated that recent legal amendments demonstrate the Government's dedication to addressing public concerns.
The MP noted that the Government assumed leadership during a critical juncture when the nation faced significant economic and Administrative hurdles. In response, substantial legal adjustments were introduced to ensure essential services could be provided to citizens while simultaneously addressing the nation’s mounting debt.
Among the key reforms, amendments affecting the dollar have been identified as particularly impactful. These measures aim to bolster the country's economic prospects by enhancing income flow and alleviating foreign currency shortages. The amendments are designed to create a more favorable environment for entrepreneurs and support individuals traveling abroad for various purposes.
The Government has also prioritised reforms in debt management and liability, introducing stricter policies to mitigate financial instability. In addition, laws addressing public health, such as banning tobacco and vaping products, were highlighted as part of broader efforts to rebuild the country and address societal issues.
The MP further pointed out that declining revenue and limited access to foreign income have posed significant challenges. By amending currency-related laws, the Government aims to provide relief to citizens and support economic recovery.
