Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract to construct the new Malé Court Complex in Hulhumalé.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development with State Minister Uz. Yoosuf Abdul Ghafoor signed on behalf of the Government, and MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee represented the company. The project was awarded for USD 45.3 million and is scheduled for completion within 720 days.

MTCC said the project includes the construction of a 14-storey court complex that will accommodate the Civil Court, Criminal Court, Drug Court, Juvenile Court, Family Court, High Court, and the Department of Judicial Administration.

The company said bringing the country's key courts and judicial administration under one roof is expected to improve public access to judicial services.
