A school cadet display and performances were held at Republic Square as part of the official celebrations marking the Maldives' 61st Independence Day. The event featured performances by over 400 students from three schools in the Malé area, alongside cultural performances by traditional dance groups and boduberu groups.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the ceremony alongside the Guest of Honour, Prince Dr Mansour bin Mutaib bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Special Guest Bangladesh's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Khalilur Rahman. The Speaker of Parliament, the Chief Justice, Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, senior Government officials and other foreign dignitaries were among those in attendance.
