The National Hotels and Guest House Association of Maldives (NHGAM), in collaboration with Visit Maldives and MATATO, successfully concluded its "I AM Maldives Roadshow," which took place from December 17 to 20, 2024, in Baku, Azerbaijan, and Tbilisi, Georgia.

The event aimed to foster new partnerships and enhance the visibility of Maldivian tourism in these expanding markets. Over 300 travel professionals attended, participating in engaging B2B sessions with 18 Maldivian exhibitors representing various tourism sectors.

NHGAM President Abdulla Nasheed expressed satisfaction with the roadshow’s success, noting that the strong interest from local travel partners exceeded expectations. He highlighted that the enthusiasm for community island tourism offered promising growth potential in both Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The roadshow included informative presentations on travel connectivity from Azerbaijan Airlines and Air Arabia, as well as a showcase of Maldives destinations by Visit Maldives.

Additionally, over 40 exclusive holiday packages promoting community island tourism, valued at more than USD 50,000, were featured, along with giveaways aimed at providing travel agents with a deeper understanding of the Maldives.

NHGAM Vice President Ahmed Waheed stressed the strategic importance of the roadshow in expanding the Maldives' tourism reach, noting that it played a key role in fostering connections and opening new opportunities for local island tourism, benefiting Maldivian hotels and guesthouses.
