Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has secured two prestigious awards at the South Asian Business Excellence Awards 2024. 

The awards ceremony, held in New Delhi on December 20, saw MPL honoured with the 'Innovative Learning and Organizational Development Practice' award, as well as the 'Innovative Business Transformation' award.

The latter marks a historic first for MPL, with the company receiving the 'Innovative Business Transformation' award for its comprehensive efforts over the past year to expand its business and boost revenues. MPL has made considerable strides in diversifying its offerings, having introduced sea-to-air cargo services in the Maldives and expanded its maritime services in the North.

The 'Innovative Learning and Organizational Development Practice' award was conferred upon MPL in recognition of its commitment to fostering employee education and professional growth. Each year, MPL’s learning department offers a range of courses, training sessions, apprenticeship programmes, and internships, ensuring its workforce is equipped with valuable skills and knowledge.

MPL secured both awards after facing competition from companies across seven countries in the South Asian region. A panel of expert judges evaluated the performance of businesses striving to expand, modernise, and adapt within the competitive Asian marketplace.

The awards recognise the top achievers in 17 distinct categories, underscoring MPL’s exceptional contributions to business development and workforce education.
