HDC’s newly appointed Managing Director, Mauroof Jameel, met with Police Commissioner Ali Shujau on December 23, 2024, at the police headquarters.

The meeting was also attended by HDC Chairman Ahmed Naseef, along with Deputy Commissioners Farhad Fikry and Ismail Naveen, and Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Shareef, who oversees the investigation into HDC-related cases.

According to a statement shared by the police via X, the discussions focused on the ongoing investigations into the Binveriya and Gedhoruviya housing schemes.

Mauroof Jameel, a former Construction Minister and a key figure in the development of Hulhumalé, assumed the role amidst an ongoing investigation into corruption allegations involving HDC.

His appointment follows the resignation of former HDC Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed. Additionally, 15 employees from Fazul's management team have been dismissed, while all remaining board members, except the chairman and managing director, have been suspended to facilitate an impartial police investigation.
