The Maldives Zakat House has delivered its first international humanitarian operation, providing water supplies to Palestinians through a USD 100,000 aid package. This initiative marks a historic milestone as the first overseas disbursement from the nation's Zakat Fund.

Qatar Red Crescent has already distributed 6,000 cases of bottled water to patients at Al-Shifa and Al-Hayat hospitals, with plans to expand distribution to reach 60,000 Palestinians with 50,000 additional water cases.

The humanitarian effort comes amid the Government's broader campaign to support Palestinians. The Government has also implemented additional measures to demonstrate solidarity, including organising telethons and fundraising events.

This water aid initiative represents part of the Maldives' comprehensive response to the inhumane attacks against Palestinian Muslims. The Government continues to coordinate various forms of humanitarian assistance through both public and private channels.
