Maldives Police Service has apprehended three individuals, including a 17-year-old boy, during an anti-drug operation carried out on court orders.

The arrests followed a confidential tip-off that led authorities to conduct a raid at Galolhu Swing. The suspects have been identified as Ahmed Safneez, 41, of Ma. Cottonvila, and Mohamed Ivaan, 23, of New Valley, Dhoondigan, Fuvahmulah, alongside the minor.

During the search, officers reportedly discovered one gram of a substance suspected to be heroin, 0.75 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and 43.29 grams of suspected cannabis. Police also recovered MVR 24,110 in cash from the scene.

Following their arrest, the court ordered Ahmed Safneez to be held in custody for 10 days, while Mohamed Ivaan was remanded for 15 days. The minor was not presented before the court and has been released on bail.

The Maldives Police Service has confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
