Maldives Police Service has confirmend that a man reported missing from Kulhudhuffushi City has been found dead.

Police said the report of the missing individual was received at around 1:48 p.m., with search efforts commencing shortly after. The man was later found in the lagoon in the afternoon and was taken to Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified as Sulaiman Hussain, 59, from Kulhudhuffushi City.

Authorities said an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
