The Maldives is set to welcome 2025 with a series of events in Hulhumale’ on New Year’s Eve.

Organised by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), the festivities will take place at Hulhumalé Central Park, offering a mix of cultural displays, technology, and entertainment.

The celebrations will begin on December 31st, 2024, at 20:00 p.m with the Maldivian Cultural and Food Festival, running through to January 1st, 2025. The festival will feature traditional Maldivian music, dance, art and a variety of local dishes, providing an opportunity for both locals and tourists to experience the country’s culture and cuisine.

A key highlight of the evening will be a 15-minute drone show, starting at 21:00 p.m. The show will depict a tourist’s journey through the Maldives, using drone technology to create a captivating visual narrative in the night sky.

As the clock strikes midnight, the night will conclude with a fireworks display over Hulhumale’, marking a colourful start to 2025.

MMPRC has invited everyone to join in the festivities, where traditional Maldivian culture meets modern innovation, offering a truly memorable celebration to ring in the new year.
