Agro National Corporation Private Limited (AgroNat) has raised concerns over the spread of misleading information following the Government's decision to dissolve AgroNat and transfer its responsibilities to the Maldives Industrial Development Free Zone Public Limited Company.

In a recent statement, AgroNat criticised the circulation of inaccurate reports in certain newspapers, which allegedly involved two senior employees of the company. The statement highlighted that no official sources from AgroNat had verified or confirmed the claims made in the media.

One particular point of contention was a report suggesting that AgroNat was preparing a list of employees to be transferred to the Maldives Industrial Development Free Zone Public Limited Company. AgroNat clarified that this information was completely false, stating that no such list was being compiled, nor had any discussions regarding employee transfers taken place.

AgroNat expressed strong disapproval of the misleading reports, noting that they have caused unnecessary anxiety among its workforce and negatively impacted the company's reputation. The statement emphasised that such misinformation undermines both the public interest and the trust of its employees.
