Ahmed Shareef removed as MIFCO Chairman, appointed to MFORMPC

Ahmed Shareef, former Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), was removed from his position on December 30, 2024 and appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (MFORMPC) on the same day.

Ahmed Shareef, had overseen MIFCO during a pivotal period for the nation’s fisheries sector. He had been appointed on December 9, 2023.

Originally from GDh Thinadhoo, Ahmed Shareef brings extensive experience and a forward-thinking approach to his new role. Known for his pragmatic leadership, Shareef has previously held significant positions in both public and private sectors, earning a reputation for driving transparency and efficiency.

MFORMPC, tasked with managing fisheries resources and processing, is expected to leverage Shareef's expertise to drive its operations.
