MNDF conducts fire and first aid training in Thaa Guraidhoo

Residents of Thaa Atoll Guraidhoo island received critical training in fire safety and first aid during sessions held by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Central Area Command in collaboration with the island’s council.
The fire awareness session, conducted on Sunday, focused on equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to handle fire emergencies.
Attendees were briefed on the causes of fires, methods to extinguish them, and the proper use of fire extinguishers and blankets. Demonstrations included hands-on fire-fighting techniques to enhance preparedness. A total of 23 people, including fishermen and members of the local community, took part in the session.
Additionally a first aid class was also held on the island, led by MNDF instructors with support from the Thaa Guraidhoo Council.
The training covered basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and managing fractures. A total of 35 participants, comprising fishermen and general residents, attended the session, gaining valuable life-saving skills.
