The Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has launched new features on its online portal, designed to improve customer convenience and streamline service delivery.

The updates were unveiled at a ceremony on Monday, December 30, 2024, by Chairperson Shamhooz Ahmed and Managing Director Abdul Matheen Mohamed.

One of the key upgrades is the integration of the e-Faas system, commonly used for accessing Government services, which now enables customers to apply for MWSC services directly through the portal.

Users can complete and submit applications, track their progress, and receive status updates via SMS. Additionally, the portal allows customers to view all their accounts in one place, settle multiple bills simultaneously, and manage accounts across different properties with ease.

For households equipped with smart meters, the portal offers detailed insights into water usage, meter readings, and billing history. This feature supports MWSC's ongoing transition to smart meters, which empowers customers to monitor their consumption and manage their resources more effectively.

Managing Director Matheen highlighted MWSC’s commitment to using technology to enhance service delivery and improve the customer experience, while also promoting environmentally sustainable practices.

General Manager of ITC, Ahmed Hunaif, noted that the updates would address previous challenges with both application and billing processes, offering greater clarity and ease for customers managing their accounts.

Serving over 23,000 customers at city counters and engaging with 80,000 customers across the Maldives, MWSC aims to simplify interactions through the upgraded portal. The company sees these improvements as part of a broader strategy to enhance access to essential utilities and provide a more efficient, user-friendly service for all.
