The stretch of Majeedhee Magu between Chaandhanee Magu and Rahdhebai Magu, notorious for frequent flooding, is set to reopen soon following extensive repair work.

According to an official from the Male’ City Council, substantial progress has been made, with the majority of the repairs completed. Crews are now focused on tasks such as cable installation, trenching, and levelling to ensure the road’s longevity and resilience.

The official highlighted weather-related challenges that have slowed progress. However, they are optimistic that all works will be finalised by the time Government offices reopen after the New Year holidays, provided the weather holds.

This initiative is part of an effort to address the deteriorating condition of roads across the city. A recent survey divided the damaged areas into blocks to streamline the repair process.
