Severe swell wave surges have caused extensive flooding across N. Narudhoo, causing flooding across a large portion of the island.

The island has been battered by unusually strong swell wave surges amid ongoing heavy rainfall across the Maldives. The flooding has brought daily life to a standstill and caused extensive damage throughout the community.

The impact has been particularly severe over the past three nights, flooding approximately 12 homes. Local sources report the island's condition has drastically deteriorated during this period.

Circulating footage shows powerful waves crashing into the island, with floodwaters reaching knee-level depths in many areas.

MNDF (Maldives National Defence Force) Northern Area Command has deployed personnel to assist with emergency operations on the island.
