First ‘Visit Maldives Week’ campaign to be held in the Middle East

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has announced the inaugural ‘Visit Maldives Week’ campaign, designed to bolster tourism and showcase the Maldives as a top-tier travel destination. Set to launch in February, the event will focus on three key cities in the Middle East - Riyadh, Manama, and Kuwait City.

The premier event offers opportunities for up to 20 companies in each city to promote tourism in the Maldives. As such, each participating company can send a maximum of 2 representatives to the event which offers a well-curated platform for networking, collaboration, and promoting the Maldivian tourism industry to audiences in the Middle East. 

The ‘Visit Maldives Week’ initiative is part of a larger, year-long promotional effort by MMPRC to enhance the global presence of Maldivian tourism. Targeting various cities, the campaign aims to attract diverse traveller demographics while reinforcing the Maldives' reputation as a premier destination for luxury, adventure, and relaxation.

Complementing the campaign is MMPRC’s ‘The World’s Biggest Giveaway,’ a massive promotional effort leveraging social media to captivate a global audience. This innovative giveaway will grant one lucky participant an unforgettable vacation in the Maldives. 

The decision to begin ‘Visit Maldives Week’ in the Middle East banks on the significant source market in the region for Maldives. Events in Riyadh, Manama, and Kuwait City are expected to deepen connections with the Middle Eastern market, attracting more visitors to the Maldives.

MMPRC and the Tourism Ministry remain committed to maintaining the Maldives’ position as one of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations. As the campaign unfolds, it promises to set a new benchmark in tourism promotion for the nation.
