Henveiru North MP Ahmed Aifan has expressed confidence that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will act decisively in matters of national interest.

MP Aifan made the comments while speaking on MMTV’s Bodu Khabaru programme, during which he highlighted the President’s strong stance against corruption and his willingness to take action when required. 

In this regard, MP Aifan said that addressing allegations of misconduct and ensuring accountability is clear proof that President Dr Muizzu stands against corruption. He added that this has led to public trust that the Government will investigate and take action on all corruption allegations, regardless of the perpetrator. 

Citing the recent Housing Development Corporation (HDC) crisis as an example of the Government’s stance against corruption, MP Aifan described the President as someone whose focus remains on public interest. 

MP Aifan also noted the withdrawal of foreign military troops from the Maldives while maintaining peaceful and diplomatic ties with India, calling it a testament to President Dr Muizzu’s resolve in fulfilling his pledges to the public. He concluded by stating that these decisive actions demonstrate a Government that is committed to safeguarding the nation’s interest and upholding public trust.
