First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed attended Moms Aid's 6th Anniversary Gala and Fundraiser event at Villa College's QI Campus on Friday night, where she emphasised the crucial role of NGOs in Maldivian society, particularly in women's empowerment.

Speaking at the event, the First Lady highlighted how NGOs effectively bridge the gap between state institutions and hard-to-reach communities. She stressed their instrumental role in advancing women's rights, noting that meaningful progress in combating violence against women and fostering empowerment depends on strengthening NGOs' position in society.

The evening featured a video showcasing Moms Aid’s achievement over its six-year journey, followed by recognition of key sponsors and partners.

The organisation unveiled its "Fund Raiser for Hope for Moms Campaign" and announced its "2025 Impact Partners."

In recognition of their dedicated service, the First Lady presented commemorative plaques to five distinguished Moms Aid members.
