Senior Political Director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, Aminath Zoona, expressed confidence in the current Administration's commitment to good governance.

Speaking on MMTV Bodu Khabaru programme, Zoona addressed criticism from the opposition, stating that disagreements should not come at the expense of the nation's peace and interests. She noted that some opposition members appear to struggle with the pace of the Government’s initiatives, which aim to deliver meaningful results for the country.

Highlighting recent developments, Zoona pointed to the national airline's  introduction of a wide-body aircraft for long-haul flights, a move expected to significantly contribute to the economy.

While the opposition has criticised this initiative, Zoona emphasised that the current Administration is focused on implementing projects that were previously delayed.

Commenting on past governance, Zoona referred to financial challenges faced by key sectors under the previous administration, including issues such as non-payment to fishermen and the bankruptcy of companies.

She contrasted this with the current Government’s visible efforts to address these shortcomings, noting that the Administration’s progress is being recognised and appreciated by the public.
