President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed for Estonia on Sunday night for an official visit, following an invitation from the President of the Republic of Estonia, Dr Alar Karis.

Leading a high-level delegation, President Dr Muizzu will focus on strengthening ties between the two nations, particularly in digital technology, cybersecurity, e-governance, environmental protection, and advancements in science and education.

The visit aligns with President Dr Muizzu's vision for digital transformation in the Maldives, a key priority he has been championing both at home and abroad as he seeks partnerships with technologically advanced nations to help build a digital and sustainable future for his country.

This marks the first official visit to Estonia by a President of the Maldives.
