MIFCO has announced plans to distribute a case of 48 tuna cans to each household as a Ramadan benefit during the upcoming fasting month.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu first disclosed this initiative during the Government's first anniversary celebrations on November 17, announcing that every household in the Maldives would receive a case of tuna cans as a Ramadan benefit.

In a statement to state media, MIFCO confirmed they are now making preparations for the nationwide distribution. The organisation produces nearly 100,000 cases of canned fish each Ramadan.

This initiative follows last year's Government support scheme, which saw households receive discounts on their water and electricity bills.
