President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited the e-Estonia Briefing Centre in Tallinn, Estonia, on January 14, 2025 as part of his official visit to the country.

The President, who is in Estonia at the invitation of President Dr Alar Karis, was welcomed by Ms Triin Joasaare, Head of the e-Estonia Briefing Centre, and Mr Joonas Vänto, Acting Head of the International Services Division and Director of the Estonian Investment Agency, Enterprise Estonia.

During the visit, President Dr Muizzu and his delegation were presented with an overview of Estonia’s digital transformation, which included insights into the country’s e-governance systems.

The delegation was briefed on key innovations such as e-residency, digital ID, e-taxation, and the secure data exchange platform, X-Road, all of which have played a vital role in Estonia's digital success.

The President’s visit, accompanied by representatives from the Maldivian tech community, aims to explore opportunities for collaboration between the Maldives and Estonia, particularly in the fields of digital governance and technology.
