The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has hosted an information forum aimed at highlighting investment opportunities to a high-level Azerbaijani delegation.
As part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and explore new avenues for cooperation, the forum, held from January 13-16, 2025, is a direct follow-up to the discussions held during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s visit to Baku for COP29 in November 2024.
The event featured thematic presentations from representatives of key ministries and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the Maldives, focusing on investment potential in sectors such as renewable energy, housing, infrastructure, sustainable tourism, and logistics. These discussions provided valuable insights into the opportunities available for Azerbaijani investors.
Moderated by Ambassador-at-Large Abdullah Hameed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the forum was designed to deepen economic relationships between the two nations and set the stage for greater collaboration. In his remarks, Ambassador Hameed expressed confidence that the forum would inspire new initiatives and foster lasting connections between the business communities of the Maldives and Azerbaijan.
The delegation, led by Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, includes government officials and representatives from prominent Azerbaijani companies.
The event was also attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Hussain Niyaaz, Secretary for Economic Cooperation, Hala Hameed, Secretary for Bilateral Relations, and Farzana Zahir, Additional Secretary.
