President explores educational collaboration at University of Tartu

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu explored educational collaboration opportunities during his visit to the University of Tartu, one of the most prestigious institutions in Northern Europe on January 15, 2025.
The President was greeted on campus by the Rector of the University, Professor Toomas Asser, who guided him through the University's facilities. The visit was marked by the President signing the University’s Visitors' Book, commemorating the occasion.
During the visit, President Dr Muizzu discussed potential areas of cooperation with university representatives, focusing on research, education, and training opportunities for Maldivian students and professionals. He expressed a keen interest in leveraging the University’s expertise to support the development of public services and digital infrastructure in the Maldives.
The University of Tartu, one of Nothern Europe’s oldest Universities, is highly regarded for its research excellence, particularly in fields such as genomics, computer science, and material sciences. It is ranked among the top 1 per cent of global universities and serves as a leader in academic and scientific innovation across its campuses in Estonia.
