President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his official visit to the Republic of Estonia.

The official visit, which took place from January 13-16, 2025, saw the President engaging in a series of high-level meetings with Estonian President Dr Alar Karis and other key government officials.

In a tweet reflecting on the visit, President Dr Muizzu expressed optimism for the future, highlighting the productive discussions and the various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the trip. The agreements signed during the visit cover a range of significant areas, including digitalisation, environmental cooperation, and political consultation.

Estonia’s pioneering digital governance systems were a major focus during this historic visit, with President Dr Muizzu recognising Estonia as a global leader in the field. The Maldives, which has identified digital transformation as a top priority under its current Administration, is keen to leverage Estonia's expertise to enhance its own digital governance.

The President concluded the tweet by extending his gratitude to President Karis and the Estonian people for their warm hospitality, calling the visit a new era of cooperation between the two nations.
