The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a yellow alert from Thaa atoll to Gaafu Dhaalu atoll.

The alert is in effect from 09:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m. on January 18, 2025.

The MET Office forecasts heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and wind gusts of up to 40 mph, with rough seas expected during this period.
