President Dr Mohamed Muizzu appointed Moomina Waheed as the new Vice President of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) on January 26. Moomina, who holds a Master’s in Criminology from the University of Sydney and a Master’s in Human Rights and Democratisation (Asia Pacific), has been a member of HRCM since 2020. She succeeds Dr Ahmed Adhuham following his resignation, and will now work alongside HRCM President Mariyam Muna and other members.
