'South Asian Travel Awards 2025' opens for nominations across six countries

The South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2025 has opened nominations for its annual recognition of the travel and hospitality sector across the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and India.

SATA, established in 2016, has received endorsements from 15 international and government agencies, including the Association of Tourism Trade Organizations, India (ATTOI), Maldives Marketing & PR Corporation (MMPRC), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), and Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO).

The 2025 edition marks the ninth year of the awards and will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Previous editions have been hosted at various venues across South Asia, including Aloft Kathmandu Thamel & The Malla Hotel, Kathmandu (2024), Sheraton Grand Bangalore at Brigade Gateway (2023), and Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi, Maldives (2022).

Winners are selected by a panel of industry professionals and experts in categories such as South Asia’s Best New Hotel, Leading Riverfront Hotel, Leading Palace Hotel, and Leading Designer Hotel.

In last year’s event, winners were recognised across 51 Gold and 93 Silver categories. The Maldives was awarded the title of Leading Beach Destination, while Heritance Aarah stood out as the Leading All-Inclusive Resort.

Nominations for SATA 2025 are now open. Interested applicants can submit their entries online at through SATA's website. The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2025.
