Dhiveheenge Ufehduntherikamuge Maurazu 2025 set to highlight Maldivian achievements

Dhiveheenge Ufehduntherikamuge Maurazu 2025, inaugurated at Meerumaa Hall, is expected to be the largest event showcasing the progress and contributions of Maldivian people as the country marks 60 years of independence. 

The exhibition, organised under the leadership of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, aims to provide a platform for local manufacturers to explore new markets and develop innovative ideas.

Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, speaking at the launch event, highlighted that this is the first time such an exhibition is being held in the Maldives in an expo format with modern facilities. The event will not only feature local talent but also present innovative work from international businesses, investors, and developed countries, fostering opportunities for collaboration and growth.

A key aspect of the exhibition is its inclusivity, with efforts to represent all islands and cities in the Maldives. A total of 15 categories spanning seven disciplines have been invited to participate, with products being submitted across 81 sub-categories. The exhibition will feature contributions from:

  • People with special needs
  • Islands
  • Cities
  • Educational institutions
  • NGOs

The categories for the exhibition include:

  • Manual labour
  • Farming
  • Fishing
  • Travel
  • Construction
  • Information and communication technology
  • Creative painting and design (creative arts and design)
  • Fashion design
  • Jewellery and accessories
  • Energy
  • Food
  • Machinery and equipment
  • Woodwork products
  • Language works
  • Others

The Business Centre Corporation (BCC) has announced various initiatives to support and develop local artisans' talent. The exhibition is designed to serve as a bridge between small businesses, established enterprises, and investors, offering business opportunities within the country and beyond. The event is also set to create connections between artisans and businesses, furthering economic growth and skill development in the Maldives.

A special theme song was introduced at the launch event to mark the occasion, reflecting the significance of the exhibition. The BCC has been entrusted with overseeing all aspects of the event in coordination with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

Dhiveheenge Ufehduntherikamuge Maurazu 2025 will take place from 23rd to 31st May at Hulhumalé Central Park. Interested participants can register through www.expo.mv, with registration open until 31st March.
