Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim has been removed from his position as Managing Director and Board Director of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) confirmed the dismissal on February 2, 2025 on X.

The PCB, which supervises State-owned enterprises, did not provide further details on the reasons for Wajeeh's dismissal.

Appointed to the role of CEO in November 2023, Wajeeh had previously held senior positions at MPL between 2013 and 2022. Before his tenure at MPL, he worked in various educational institutions across the Maldives.

The PCB has yet to comment on the reasons behind the decision or provide information about a potential successor. MPL, a crucial entity in the country’s shipping and logistics sector, is responsible for managing the Maldives' ports and maritime infrastructure.
