In his Presidential Address 2025, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced plans to enhance the eFaas digital ID system to meet international standards and integrate all Government services, driving a comprehensive digital transformation. The initiative includes developing an open data-sharing platform, improving efficiency, reducing corruption, and enabling citizens to access their records in real time. A four-year project will support these efforts, featuring the establishment of a national sovereign cloud, expanded data centre resources, and the introduction of internationally compliant digital signatures.
