President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has set a target of 2.3 million tourist arrivals by the end of 2025, building on the record-breaking 2 million visitors in 2024. To achieve this, the Government plans to expand tourism to underdeveloped regions like Haa Dhaalu and Thaa Atolls by offering investment incentives. Additionally, the national airline, Maldivian, is expanding its fleet and routes, including new wide-body aircraft flights to China and planned services to Europe.
