State Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr Abdulla Nazeer, and Maldives’ Ambassador to Thailand, Fuad Thaufeeq, held discussions on expanding higher education opportunities for Maldivian students in Thailand.

The meeting focused primarily on scholarship opportunities offered by the Thai Government to Maldivian students, particularly in technical and vocational training fields.

Discussions also covered strengthening academic ties between higher education institutions in both countries and enhancing collaboration in scientific research.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development (MoHe), such consultations play a crucial role in promoting higher education, expanding training opportunities for Maldivian youth, and building a skilled and capable workforce for the country.

This meeting follows a previous discussion in December 2024 between the Ministry and Thailand’s Kasetsart University, where avenues for academic collaboration were explored.
