Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaranfaru Council has announced plans to lease out nine plots of land to expand its guesthouse industry, inviting both local and foreign investors to submit their interest.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the Nolhivaranfaru Council stated that interested parties can apply to operate tourist hotels on the island. The council is open to clarifying queries through email and at its Secretariat from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on working days. Additionally, the council will provide further details regarding the bid process until noon on April 6, 2025.

The designated land for guesthouse development is located within the island’s tourist zones, with plot sizes varying as follows:

Potential investors can attend an online information session via VIA, and bid documents will be available for purchase from February 27 to 6 April 6 this year.

Nolhivaranfaru Council hopes to boost tourism in the island and attract more visitors through this initiative.
