The Dhivehi Bahuge Academy (DBA) has successfully developed and formalised 160 new words in the past two years. 

The newly formed words, were released with their meanings and their corresponding English terms. 

In a recent announcement, the Academy revealed that 88 of these words were created during the year 2023 alone.

Looking ahead, the Academy also shared that in 2024, it compiled an additional 72 words, which were similarly published with meanings and English equivalents.

These words, which are to be used across various fields, further enrich the local language and are expected to be included in the Dhivehi Radheef (dictionary).

Each year, the Academy continues to introduce new words for public use, fostering the evolution of the Dhivehi language and its relevance in modern society.
