Ministry conducts floating solar PV training programme

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has launched a two-day training programme focused on floating solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, aiming to strengthen expertise among key stakeholders in the energy sector.
The programme is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of personnel from the Ministry, utility companies, and regulatory authorities. Participants will receive up-to-date insights on floating solar PV technology, including its applications and potential renewable energy projects in the Maldives.
The training will cover design, installation, and maintenance of floating solar PV systems, equipping participants with the technical expertise needed to advance this emerging sector.
Emphasising the Government’s commitment to renewable energy, the Ministry highlighted that this initiative aligns with efforts to expand sustainable energy solutions in the country.
According to the Ministry, the programme represents a significant step forward in developing the Maldives' energy sector, supporting the transition to clean energy and enhancing the country’s renewable energy capacity.
