Foreign minister discusses Maldives-Sri Lanka trade and investment

Dr Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs, recently held an interactive session with Sri Lanka’s business community, where he outlined plans to further strengthen trade relations and expand investment opportunities between the two nations.
His address reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to fostering economic cooperation and enhancing bilateral partnerships.
During the discussion, Minister Dr Khaleel provided an overview of the Maldives’ fiscal and economic policies, emphasising the country’s positive economic trajectory. He highlighted the Government’s dedication to maintaining stability and sustainable growth, ensuring a favourable environment for both local and foreign investors.
Additionally, he elaborated on the strategic measures implemented under the leadership of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. These initiatives are designed to promote long-term economic resilience, support key industries, and reinforce the Maldives’ position as a thriving economic hub in the region.
