State Trading Organisation (STO) has announced revisions to the distribution schedule and locations for the nationwide distribution of tuna can cases to each household in the Maldives. The distribution will take place from February 20th to 27th, 2025.

Originally scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm on February 20, the distribution will now commence at 8:30 pm on the same day. Additionally, changes have been made to the designated distribution locations.

STO has urged beneficiaries to follow the revised schedule to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution process.

Distribution centres

Tuna can cases will be distributed at the following locations in Malé and surrounding areas:

  • Villimalé: WAMCO Site
  • Hulhumalé Phase 1: Umar Zahir Building
  • Hulhumalé Phase 2: Hiyaa flat tower 10 Youth Centre

The Roadha Hadhiya distribution was first announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during the Government’s first-anniversary celebrations on November 17, 2024. The initiative aims to provide every household in the Maldives with a case of 48 tuna cans as a Ramadan benefit.

The Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) has confirmed that preparations for the nationwide distribution are underway. The company produces approximately 100,000 cases of canned fish each Ramadan to support the initiative.

This follows the 2024 Government support scheme, which provided water and electricity bill discounts for households during Ramadan.

STO has assured that all necessary measures are in place to facilitate an organised and accessible distribution process.
