Authorities have launched an investigation into allegations of grooming involving a female teacher and a male student in an island under the jurisdiction of the south police. 

The case was officially registered on January 21, with details disclosed by law enforcement today.

Police sources indicate that the investigation began after a complaint was filed against a female teacher, alleging that she had groomed an eighth-grade student at a local school. Authorities were notified, and the case is now under active investigation.

Given the nature of the case, officials have emphasised the seriousness of the allegations. Due to the involvement of a minor, both the island and the atoll where the incident reportedly took place have been kept confidential to protect those affected.

Police have explained that grooming typically involves exposing an individual to content or situations that create inappropriate interest in sexual activity. Under the law, such actions constitute a serious offence.
