The Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, has announced via social media platform X that the Government will establish new arrangements for distributing Roadha Hadhiya canned fish cases before tomorrow.
Every household in the Maldives is entitled to receive this traditional Ramadan provision.
Distribution centres operated last night at several locations, including the MIFCO office compound and MTCC Sawmill in Male'. Additional distribution points were established at the WAMCO site in Vilimale', the Umar Zahir Building in Hulhumale' Phase 1, and the Youth Centre at Hiyaa Flat Tower 10 in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
Hundreds queued at distribution points across the Male' region last night as the Ministry began distributing the cases.
The Minister stated that after reviewing the distribution process and public turnout, additional collection points would be established and announced before Saturday. He expressed gratitude to both the distribution staff in Male' and members of the public for their cooperation.
The Government's Roadha Hadhiya initiative will reach more than 82,000 households, with each receiving a case containing 48 easy-open cans of tuna, weighing 180g each.
