A 23-year-old Maldivian woman has been arrested in Hulhumalé after police seized over 14 kilograms of suspected narcotics in a court-sanctioned raid.

The suspect, identified as Maryam Zeena, was taken into custody on February 19, 2025, during a joint operation by the Counter Narcotics Intelligence and Drug Enforcement units. The drugs were discovered during a police raid on an apartment in Hulhumalé Phase 1.

She was presented before Ciminal Court, which ordered her to be remanded in custody for 15 days.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the case, with efforts underway to identify potential links to a wider drug network.
