Authorities have recovered over a kilogram of drugs hidden under the seat of a motorcycle parked on a road in Malé City, as part of an ongoing counter-narcotics operation.

According to the Maldives Police Service, the Counter Narcotics Intelligence unit, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Agency, conducted a targeted operation on February 19, 2025, following a tip-off about the concealed drugs.

While no arrests have been made so far, police have towed the motorcycle and confirmed that an investigation is underway to identify those responsible.
