Villimalé MP Mohamed Ismail has launched a community clean-up initiative titled ‘Saafu Villimale Rahkaatheri Veshi’ as part of efforts to improve sanitation ahead of the fasting month.

The campaign, supported by several state institutions and companies, was officially announced by the Ministry of Cities, Administration, and Public Works in a post on X. Minister Adam Shareef Umar, STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy, and Malé City Mayor Adam Azim were present at the event.

MP Mohamed Ismail emphasised the importance of maintaining a clean environment, noting that Villimalé is a popular recreational spot but has seen an increase in waste disposal issues. He stated that the initiative, which began today, will continue until the area is fully cleaned.
