President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Yazmeed Mohamed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), in accordance with Article 158(a) of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives and Article 3 of the Judicial Service Commission Act, 2008. 

The appointment was formalised during a ceremony held at the President’s Office this afternoon.

Prior to assuming the role, Yazmeed Mohamed took the oath of office and secrecy before President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. The oath was administered by Justice Dr Mohamed Ibrahim of the Supreme Court of the Maldives.

The appointment follows the dismissal of Uz Mohamed Sameer, who was previously serving as a member of the Judicial Service Commission. His removal was carried out under the provisions outlined in Article 165 of the Constitution of the Maldives and Section 14(a) of the Judicial Service Commission Act, 2008.

During the ceremony, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu formally presented Yazmeed Mohamed with the letter of appointment to the JSC.
