The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Bank of Maldives (BML) building in Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo was held on Sunday evening.

The ceremony, held as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's visit to Dhaalu Atoll, was attended by the President and Cabinet Ministers. The foundation stone for the project was officially laid by BML Chairman Ahmed Ali Habeeb and BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef.

As part of the expansion of banking services, the BML Kudahuvadhoo branch also launched a new self-service ATM on Sunday, further improving financial accessibility for the community.

This initiative aligns with President Dr Muizzu's broader vision to ensure nationwide access to banking services, as outlined in his 2025 Presidential Address to Parliament.

The Government continues to prioritise financial inclusion, strengthening banking infrastructure across the nation.

Last week, in a similar effort, BML launched its first USD ATM in Addu City, marking another step towards enhancing banking accessibility for citizens.
